History
Cyndy Cashman, Ph.D. established Breakaway Interactive in the fall of 1999. After spending time as a university professor and director of instructional technology at a community college, she decided it was time to "breakaway" from the never ending committee meetings and return to her passion for design, development, and training. Originally established to provide software training for creative professionals, the company has expanded to include design, development, and consulting services.
Today, Cyndy continues to teach many of the classes at Breakaway sharing her wealth of experience as a designer, developer, consultant, and author.

Why should I take classes from Breakaway Interactive?
Our training is geared for creative professionals who need just-in-time training. We are the only training company in the area offering a curriculum focusing on the creative professional's need for multimedia and Web development training.
We're here after the completion of a course. We realize that once you've returned to your office you may have questions over material covered in class. If you have a question, contact us and we'll provide you with the answer.
What do I need to know before I come to class?
You should be familiar with Windows or Macintosh operating systems, comfortable using a mouse, and understand file management.
Some classes have prerequisites. These are listed in the course outline of each class.
Classes start at 9:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m..
How many students are in each class?
We limit our classes to 6 students. Classes are hands-on and each student has their own computer.
What type of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, company checks, and money orders. To reserve your place in a class, we must receive full payment at least ten business days before the first day of class.
A purchase order may be used to reserve registration, but payment must be received at least ten business days before the first day of class.
What is your policy regarding cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds?
A student reservation is confirmed upon payment. Included in the price of each class is a $50.00 non refundable enrollment fee. To receive a full refund, minus the enrollment fee, we must receive your cancellation 10 days before the first day of class. This fee also applies when you enroll in a class and then decide to switch to a different class. No refunds will be given for "no shows".
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule classes due to circumstances beyond our control. A full refund, including the $50.00 enrollment fee, will be given.
Breakaway Interactive believes in the quality of its training. If for any reason a participant feels he/she has not received the full benefit from a course, he/she can audit the same course at no charge up to 90 days after attending a course. The request to audit must be made within 10 days of the course.
How do I register for a class?
You can register online or call (405) 364-9343. We will contact you within 36 hours of receiving your online registration to confirm your space in a class.
What type of computer will I use?
Our classrooms are equipped with both Macintosh and Windows computers. Every attempt will be made to supply each student with their preferred computer platform. The earlier you enroll and pay for a class the more likely we will be able to reserve the computer system of your choice.
